No, a WALK. Not a tummy rub.
How much grass can you possibly eat, especially when you don't throw it up afterwards?
SQUIRREL!
Maybe not. Just some crows flying off.
But hey, what the.......
Back home, we have the obligatory look around in The Dog Forest, or the only bit of the complex's garden that Milly is allowed in. The photo doesn't show it clearly, but the old stone wall is on a rise and makes Milly around eight foot tall as she gets a squizz at what the neighbours are up to. It must look funny to see her haughty orange face from their side.
Back home it's a cup of coffee for me and instant, snoozy contentment for her.
Best dog ever.

Wouldn't you give several small unimportant body parts to be able to relax as completely as a dog (or a cat).
YES! I think that every single day and even as I write this she's had an eleven hour sleep and a half hour walk and is snoozing away at my feet!
This post was very well written, and it also contains a lot of useful facts. I enjoyed your distinguished way of writing the post. Thanks, you have made it easy for me to understand.
I love dogs. Darling Milly.
But who minds her while you ski xmas?
OTOH how wonderful you will have a snowy xmas in europe - they really know how to lay it on. Good St. Nick

Milly's going to stay at Lana and Denni's place. They're Croatian IT folk who work from home and take in one dog at a time to live with them. We've been there to check them and their house out and can see that Milly will be happy there.
No kennel for her - she gets too cold and won't eat....
I can never decide what I love more - their faces as they are exploring, or the complete surrender as they sleep. Yup, got yourself a good dog there Kath :)
I love these photos of Milly, especially the last one. She looks like she's smiling, perhaps dreaming of chasing rabbits or dreaming of tummy rubs?
great post, my yopungest want a dog and I would love to have one but as we are out of the house most of the week it is not fair on a dog, come retirement hopefully that will change
Their faces do change when they're out exploring or running or sniffing or chasing or lazing or just eating grass.... I never realised just how many facial expressions dogs have!
I reckon she's dreaming of squirrels - of finally catching one. She's not a real hunter and has never killed anything, so I reckon all she'll want to do is bop it on the nose and say, "Tag, you're IT!" and continue the game.
You can never go wrong with a cute dog post. She is cute and not a boring dog. Lol at tag, you're it.
Thanks Andrew - I sometimes worry that my Milly-centric posts could be a bit too much for non-pet or non-dog lovers to handle.
I must introduce you to our new puppy. Very slack of me.
Yes please Vanessa - photos! We must have photos!
Kath you always make me feel guilty for the non existent walks my poor dog gets. She has tiny little legs that don't last long, she thinks she's a bull terrier (but is a maltese), she's 13.5 now and looks like she has kidney disease :(
Nicole, I think living on the eighth floor of a huge apartment block helps because she has to be taken outside regularly for a sniff and a wee, so why not a walk?
Besides, I enjoy it as much as she does. :)
Magic! Thanks Kath. Beautiful post. Merry Christmas to you and yours from Australia.
