Question. Dumb. Ask.

Love Chunks and I were sitting companionably at the dinner table, sharing some shiraz in the warmth and gazing into Melbourne's rainy darkness outside.

I had to say it. "What did you enjoy most about our holiday?

"The parts where you weren't there."

Yes, but only if I don't go seeking it. I can't count how many times I've received an 'I love you' when I'm wearing my trakkie daks and bent over the kitchen bin putting in a new liner!

ZINGO!!
Ha. Nice one, LC.

Good job LC! Positive reinforcements always work (refering to bin liner).

Reminds me of a line from Marge Simpson when they went on a holiday "An important part of spending time together as a family together is spending time apart".

Oddly enough, I enjoy spending time away from my partner too. Being at work doesn't count...
So were there separate activities available on your holiday? I thought on those tour type deals everyone did everything together.

Naww, no fair.

If you guys didn't spend any time apart and he liked the parts when you weren't there, does that mean he liked none of it?

A man becomes tough, rugged and harsh to the untrained eye when he spends any time in the outback and the wild. A reversion to nature, if you will.

And geez, I'm in bad need of a manicure and a facial now!

There weren't any separate activities, River, unless you count sitting on the toilet (or digging a hole and squatting as was required part of the time)....

'Oveners' - I love it - Love Chunks might not though, because he's been treated to a few lately.... damn healthier, low-cholesterol diet, damn beans....
