One day he's going to be hauled away by the cops and yell out to you as he's dragged by the armpits through the foyer, "But SHE knows me - tell 'em lady!" and *you* can look away.....

Er thanks Dr B - I think. "Harmless" - is that a good or a bad thing in today's society? I think there's a blog in that topic......

River and CatJB, not talking is also fair enough; I'd never bother anyone who is reading or listening to music. But when someone asks me for directions or is obviously struggling with a map or the ticket machine or butts into my own conversation, there's always a chance for a chat. Or just a smile, eh?

And Cat, years ago I caught the Heidelberg train into Spencer Street and it was the absolute best time to read (Sapph off to daycare, me off to work = no time for reading at home). On the way back, I'd be disappointed when the train'd pull in at Heidelberg because it meant I had to put my latest page-turner back into my bag.Kath Locketthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09677312773827236567noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14994418.post-67363949850217019522009-08-15T12:06:55.879+02:002009-08-15T12:06:55.879+02:00I'm like River, and tend to keep to myself on ...I'm like River, and tend to keep to myself on public transport. My hearing loss makes hearing difficult in noisy areas, although I try to sit on the left side of any public transport, in case someone does try to talk..

Plus, it's my only chance to get some reading done: 2 boys = no time to read.Cat J Bhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09392607219027350143noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14994418.post-5157092592971869902009-08-15T10:09:56.060+02:002009-08-15T10:09:56.060+02:00I'm a non talker on trams and buses. It's awkward for me because I don't hear well in noisy places.Riverhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14794655013673748992noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14994418.post-29752486977348077142009-08-15T04:57:55.049+02:002009-08-15T04:57:55.049+02:00Maybe you have to look interested, harmless and fr...Maybe you have to look interested, harmless and friendly... like Kath...drbnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14994418.post-85208389546973389702009-08-14T22:50:25.113+02:002009-08-14T22:50:25.113+02:00How do you make a simple tram ride into an adventu...How do you make a simple tram ride into an adventure? I catch the bus occasionally but nobody ever talks. Weird. I also get in the lift at work regularly with an accountant from work who never says anything. I say hello or 'nice day' or something inane and he just looks away. Weird.Bainohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14156193098088048637noreply@blogger.com
